The picture depicts Sargeant White formally kennel huntsman to the Hampshire Hunt, on the Downs in the night,with searchlights over (probably Southampton or Guildford). He is a Sergeant in a mounted home guard unit formed by the hunts of Southern England in World War 2.
It shows the fox passing the soldier on guard duty, and not being challenged, hence "Pass Friend"
This example is pencil signed by the artist and carries the embossed Snaffles mark. It is framed in a plain black 1/2" frame to the edge, and is in excellent condition.
